Office 365 is used from a lot of IT Pro in small and medium enterprise companies. The majority believe that by having data in the cloud as Office365, backup is not needed, as it almost never loses data from disruption.
But backup is not only there to keep your data safe but also to help you to restore files, emails, sensitive documents that could have been deleted accidentally.
So to keep your data safe it is of massive importance to have a backup for all your data, even if it's in cloud.

All the backup of mailboxes will be stored in Altaro's Azure infrastructure, but let me explain step by step how Altaro Office365 can be set up.
This set up guide is only for businesses and organizations who are not on an MSP model.
After getting access of the trial, the first step is to add the O365 Organization Name.
Add an Office 365 Organization
- Click in button Add Office365 account and you will redirect to add credentials of Office365 Admin Account
- When login you will be ask for permissions request of Altaro Office365 in your Office365 mailboxes. Must click Accept.
- Wait for a while until grant access and click Close.
- Now you have the option to select if you would like to Backup all the mailboxes or to select which mailboxes want to backup.
- In our scenario i select Choose which mailboxes to Backup.Click Next
- Click Finish
Backup Mailboxes
- After has finish the configuration you can click in Mailbox Backup from the left side.
- Click in white rectangle from the right side in the mailbox that you would like to Backup
- Select Start Backing up this Mailbox
- You can watch the progress from the top menu as usual in Altaro.
- For every Mailbox that select to backup it will take it automatically four times a day.
Restore Mailboxes
If you would like to Restore an Entire Mailbox you can follow the steps
- Click in Restore Mailbox from the left side
- Select the Organization
- Select the Mailbox
- Select the Restore Point
- Select the Restore Destination
- If you select Restore all emails , calendar Items and Contacts back to the same mailbox
- Then it will ask you if you would like to restore in the same location or in separate folder inside the mailbox
Restore Specific Email from Mailbox
In case that you would like to restore only specific emails or specific items from Mailbox then you can use the Granular Restore
- Click in Email Granular Restore from the left side
- Select the Organization
- Select the Mailbox
- Select the Restore Point
- Select that item that you would like to Restore.
- Here you have the ability to Preview the email to verify that is the correct. Click Next.
- Select the Restore Destination
- In case of selections Restore selected item back to the same mailbox or Restore selected item to a different mailbox ...
- Then it will ask you if you would like to restore in the same location or in separate folder inside the mailbox.
- Decide how will be restore it and click Restore.
