Reset windows firewall to Default Settings

Today I decide to write an article for the Windows Firewall and how can reset to Default Settings. Especially for end user might be very helpful after long time use of windows and tons of installed softwares which add automatic rules in Windows Firewall. It’s very common after long time Windows Firewall to stop working as it should. This behavior can create lot of problems , probably in end users that they don’t have the knowledge to resolve difference issues with Firewalls
Before start I will explain in few lines what doeas it a Firewall.

‘’ A firewall is software or hardware that checks information coming from the Internet or a network, and then either blocks it or allows it to pass through to your computer, depending on your firewall settings. Even if you think there's nothing on your computer that would interest anyone, a worm could completely disable your computer, or someone could use your computer to help spread worms or viruses to other computers without your knowledge. ‘’

Before start you must need to know that when restoring Windows Firewall to default settings removes all of the Windows Firewall settings that you've made for all network location types. This might cause some programs that you've previously added from installation through the firewall to stop working.

Let's start how to reset the Windows Firewall.

  • Go to Start - -> Control Panel for Windows 7

  • Right Click in Start Button and select Control Panel for Windows 8, Windows 8.1

  • Select Windows Firewall

  • From the left side click Restore Defaullts.

  • You will open a windows to explain what will do when restore to defaults the Windows Firewall.
  • Click again Restore Defaults.

  • You will get a new windows with Restore Default Confirmation.Click the button Yes.

That's it !!!. Your Windows Firewall Restore to Default Settings. It's very easy and you will resolve lot of troubles.
